Dental

As pets are not able to brush their teeth like humans everyday, their risk of dental disease is quite high. Around 80% of dogs and 70% of cats will have some dental disease by the age of 3.

Having your pet’s teeth checked regularly is an essential part of early detection of any dental issues and will prevent painful problems down the track.

At Pet Medical we routinely check your pet’s teeth for plaque and tartar build up and look at whether gingivitis (gum disease) is present or if any teeth appear diseased, broken, or infected. Our staff will advise on the best course of action for your pet’s dental routine.

For every booked dental appointment, a full set of dental x-rays is taken to check the health of the roots. We recommend all animals should have a dental check every 12 months.
